Bridget Ruth, LCSW, EMDR Trained

I believe that good therapy can provide a renewed sense of hope and purpose as well as deeply improve one's satisfaction in today’s world, no matter what challenges, darkness, or hurts you have.  I am passionate about helping people make positive, meaningful changes in their lives.  I provide a safe and empowering space as I listen to your story and then, together, we create the path that leads to improved self-love, acceptance, healing, contentment, and purposeful living.

I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and utilize this treatment in helping clients who desire to heal from trauma and/or various limiting, negative core beliefs about self.

I earned my Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Tennessee. Both of my internships involved work with individuals, families, couples, and children affected by alcohol and drug addiction.

I currently specialize in work with adult women and couples who are challenged with a variety of possible life issues that include addictions, anxiety, boundary issues, depression, codependency, parenting, post-partum depression, PTSD, relationship issues, religious trauma, spiritual transitions, and trauma.

When I am not in the office, I enjoy spending time with my husband, son, daughter, and our family dog; being with friends; laughing (laughter truly IS good "medicine"); travelling; hiking; being outdoors; board games; listening to positive music; being creative; learning about nutrition and fitness; and watching movies, to name a few.
